Product Development Manager

Nokona, the iconic ballglove brand, is seeking to fill the position of Product Development Manager. The selected candidate will lead all day-to-day Product Development operations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Development of systems and providing leadership to manage and direct Nokona’s new and existing product lines, including ballgloves, equipment, and accessories
  • Management of product development timelines
  • Serving as a liaison between Nokona’s production and sales teams
  • New business development
  • Providing a positive work environment for the product development team and Phoenix employees
  • Setting rules and procedures for Phoenix production employees to follow
  • Development and management of a Product Development budget

Qualified Candidates will possess:

  • 10+ years’ experience in product-line development and/or design, with background in project management
  • A passion for baseball
  • Extensive experience in managing timelines
  • Proficiency in Excel, with the ability to: conduct margin and cost analyses as it relates to raw materials and production; develop and analyze sales reports; understand inventory management
  • Strong leadership skills
  • High attention to detail, be conscientious, and be a self-starter – proacting to company needs, systems, and procedures
  • A good history of employee supervision, with experience in recruitment and selection, training, and performance management
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently
  • An understanding of the importance of customer service and brand;
  • Strong people skills, as well as the ability to make responsible decisions regarding current and future employee requirements
  • The ability to develop and maintain a strong team

Accounting Associate

Nokona Ballgloves & Leather Goods is seeking a full-time Accounting Associate to join our team. Nokona has been making ballgloves in the United States for over 85 years, and represents the ultimate combination of American heritage and innovation in the sporting goods industry.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, have high attention to detail, and be a self-starter. Responsibilities include all aspects of general accounting, including maintenance of the general ledger, monthly close entries, balance sheet reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable (maintenance and collection), bank account reconciliations, lines of credit management and some financial analysis.

This is a Full-Time position based in Phoenix, AZ. Salary and benefits DOE. Nokona is an equal opportunity employer.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in required responsibilities
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Office products
  • Proficiency with Excel spreadsheets
  • Experience with QuickBooks
  • Ability to plan, organize and handle multiple tasks

 Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for complete, accurate, and timely reporting and recording of all company transactions
  • Accounts receivable maintenance, including management of aged trial balance, preparation of monthly statements, and assisting in collection efforts
  • Accounts payable including tracking company spending, future liabilities, costing of all expenditures, and timely payments to vendors
  • Analyzing financial data, specifically related to cash flow
  • Preparing commission schedules and payments for sales reps
  • Reconciliation of all ledger accounts, bank statements, and lines of credit
  • Recognizing problems, suggesting and implementing system changes
  • Communicating with management and internal and external organizations regarding the Company’s financial position
  • Work closely with the Company’s Accounting Manager with regards to P&L, Cash Flow, Inventory, and Product Cost Reports

This unique opportunity to collaborate on a groundbreaking ballglove line is a permanent, full-time position based in Phoenix, AZ, with opportunity for growth. The ideal candidate has a passion for baseball, soft-goods design, engineering, and R&D, and is motivated to bring exciting new products to consumers.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in design or a related field, and/or relevant work experience
  • 3+ years of product design experience
  • A passion for baseball or softball
  • Be reliable, flexible, and a quick learner, with great attention to detail and strong organization skills
  • Enjoy working with others, and also able to complete tasks independently
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and CAD
