My name is Payton Atkinson, I’m twelve years old and I’m the oldest female baseball player in my League. Here are my goals and how I plan to achieve them.

Wining Answer

1st base: My goal on the field is to show I’m worthy to be there, and that girls can play. As a girl who plays baseball, there’s this extra pressure on you because you have to be almost perfect to earn your spot. This year is my last year in Little League, and my goal is to work with my coach, former pro pitcher Brett Tomko, and show the boys who’s boss.
2nd Base: To play a team sport, you need to know how to be a leader during a game or practice. My goal is to exceed the role as a leader, and lift up my teammates when they’re in difficult situations.
3rd Base: Off the field, as a girl who plays baseball, there are two main things to prioritize. One, work on the fundamental skills to make sure you can always be at your best on the field. Two, always be a positive role model for little girls starting in T-Ball, so they know they have a spot in the game of baseball!
Home Run: The way I’m going to do this is by having a positive attitude, and a driven mindset to accomplish my goals. I am blessed to have supportive parents and coaches, and I will share my goals with them and give my all every day in order to achieve them!
